G2 Curriculum Update: May 4th

Reading: This week students will begin book clubs! They will be discussing predictions and character traits. Please make sure they are on time for their book club on Tuesday and Friday. 

Writing: This week the students will work on creating a persuasive video. In this video they will read an opinion letter to other second graders. The students will use their words, technology, and props to try to persuade the other second graders to agree with their opinion.

Math: This week we will end Module 7!

Students will infer and draw conclusions from data.  They will also discover that a table is useful for organizing data, while a line plot allows for visual comparisons of the data. 

Grammar/Word Study: This week in word study the second graders will continue to study compound words.  In grammar the focus will be on countable nouns.

Science:  Properties of matter! Our new topic!

• List observable properties of common materials, including color, texture, hardness, and flexibility.

Português: Nessa semana, os alunos farão algumas atividades referentes às características dos Contos de Fadas. Além disso, farão atividades no livro "Como fazer um livro de historinhas" e lerão um livro no Elefante Letrado.

PAL: Students will review the exercise and reading on the Elefante Letrado.
