Reading: Our first reading unit focuses on the habits of good second grade readers - reading a lot, focusing on understanding what we read, and reading books with expression.
Writing: In our first writing unit the students will be writing personal narratives, or small moments. To begin the unit the students try to stretch out one small moment by adding details.
Science: In science, we are launching our Project Lead The Way (PLTW) unit on Form and Function.
Math: Our first module sets the foundation for students to master sums and differences to 20. Students subsequently apply these skills to fluently add one-digit to two-digit numbers at least through 100 using place value understanding, properties of operations, and the relationship between addition and subtraction.
